Enable TestRail Metrics

Integrate TestRail data into TargetBoard to track your top QA metrics and gain visibility into your test case management data, including projects, test cases, runs, and results.

TargetBoard integrates with TestRail using the official TestRail REST API. The connection uses a dedicated read-only TestRail user and HTTP Basic Authentication. No database access or third-party middleware is required.

Before You Begin

Create a Read-only TestRail User

1. Log in to your TestRail instance as an administrator.
2. Navigate to Administration → Users & Roles.
3. Create a new user and name it (for example: targetboard-integration).
4. Assign the user a read-only role with access to:
   1. Projects.
   2. Test suites.
   3. Test cases.
   4. Test runs and plans.
   5. Test results.
5. Set a password and store it, you will need to share it with TargetBoard.

Send to TargetBoard

• TestRail Base URL (for example https://<your-instance>.testrail.io).
• Username.
• Password.
