Enable Pull Request Metrics

Connecting your GitLab to TargetBoard enables access to all your PR metrics including Cycle Time, Time in Status, tracking of New, Open and Closed Pull Requests and many others.

To integrate GitLab with TargetBoard, you'll need to generate a Personal Access Token with the appropriate scope to allow read access to your organization's projects and API.

  1. Login to GitLab.
  2. Click your avatar in the sidebar and select Edit Profile.
  3. In the left sidebar, click through Access Tokens > Add New Token and fill in the fields as follows:
    1. Token Name: TargetBoard
    2. Token Description: (optional)
    3. Expiration Date: 365 days
  4. Select read_api as the required scope (this scope grants access to API, all groups and projects, container registry and package registry).
  5. Click Create Personal Access Token
  6. Copy and store the token securely (it won't be shown again).
  7. Send the GitLab Org or username and personal access token to your TargetBoard contact.
