GitHub Copilot Integration

Enable GitHub Copilot Metrics

Integrate GitHub Copilot usage data into TargetBoard to track AI adoption and impact metrics, unlocking insights into the team's productivity.

Before You Begin

Prerequisites

• Copilot Metrics API access policy must be enabled for your organization or enterprise.
• The token must be a Classic Personal Access Token (fine-grained tokens are not supported).

GitHub Organization Copilot Metrics

1. Sign in to GitHub as an organization owner and navigate to https://github.com/settings/tokens
2. Click Generate new token → Generate new token (classic).
3. Name the token (e.g., TargetBoard Copilot).
4. Set an expiration date (recommended is 365 days).
5. Select all three required scopes:
   1. read:org
   2. manage_billing:copilot
   3. read:enterprise
6. Click Generate token and copy it.

GitHub Enterprise Copilot Metrics

1. Sign in to GitHub as an enterprise owner and navigate to https://github.com/settings/tokens
2. Click Generate new token → Generate new token (classic).
3. Name the token (e.g., "TargetBoard Copilot").
4. Set an expiration date (recommended is 365 days).
5. Select all three required scopes:
   1. read:org
   2. manage_billing:copilot
   3. read:enterprise
6. Click Generate token and copy it.

Send to TargetBoard

• GitHub Organization or Enterprise Name.
• Access Level (Organization or Enterprise).
• Classic Personal Access Token

The TargetBoard team will complete the integration and update you accordingly.
